This book is a classic tale about life in the Outback in Australia in the style of Tony Hillerman who writes about the American southwest . Hillerman admits being inspired by Arthur Upfield. Upfield died in 1963, but had actually lived in Australia. A gripping tale while learning about customs in another land.

Great vacation read in the classic detective genre with a lot of culture thrown in.
I discovered Arthur Upfield back in the 1980's through a friend of mine. I have a collection of "Bony's" adventures in the Australian outback.
Upfield's character has a keen eye for detail and the Australian backdrop adds additional flavor. Blends Aboriginal and Western culture. We really like this writer.
Author keeps you guessing to the end. The author give a lot of information regarding the land in this area of Australia.
Now have all of Author Upfield audio books. Enjoy listening to the stories. Cant wait to listen to the next one....
I enjoy all the Bony books and especially like learning about all the different places he goes and people he meets. Have re read them all several times.
I love this author. If you like Tony Hillerman's novels set in the southwest-4 corners area-you will enjoy Arthur Upfield.
Violence is minimal, these are murder mysteries.
